Geriatric Expert Group is installed
The Geriatric Expert Group (GEG) of the European Medicines Agency has
had their first teleconference at Friday 20 May.
Participants were: Francesca Cerreta, European Medicines Agency, Sue Morgan, regulator (UK), Prof. Joel Ankri, geriatrician in Paris (France), associated Prof. Antonio Cherubini, geriatrician in Perugia (Italy), Prof. Niccolo Marchionni, geriatrician in Florence (Italy), associated Prof. Adalsteinn Gudmundsonn, geriatrician in Reykjavik (Iceland), Prof. Mirko Petrovic, geriatrician and clinical pharmacologist in Gent (Belgium), Hans Wildiers, oncologist, head taskforce elderly cancer research (Belgium) and associated Prof. Paul Jansen, geriatrician and clinical pharmacologist in Utrecht (The Netherlands). The objective and mandates of the GEG are, a.o., to give the CHMP input on geriatric aspects of medicines development and guidelines. The GEG is initially composed of 9 members.
On 21 November the Strategic Implementation Plan on the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy aging has been published by the European Commission.
